Our reports are Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliant – in other words, we follow the rules and regulations set up by our profession. Because we are also members of the Appraisal Institute (AI), our reports conform with their requirements as well. We are in business to provide an accurate analysis of properties – the fair market value – for various entities, including attorneys, accountants, banks, charities and others.

Historical preservation (façade) easements is another service provided by J. Lee Donnelly & Son. Between 1999 and 2006, J. Lee Donnelly & Son competed more than 600 appraisals for home owners in the historic districts of the city that established a loss in value associated with the donation of a preservation easement to a (501)(c)(3) non-profit organization. Most of the easement donations were made to the L’Enfant Trust and the Preservation for Historic Georgetown. The easement provided the owner with a flexible tool with which to preserve the property for future generations, and if certain criteria were met, could also result in a federal income tax deduction equivalent to the value of the rights given away.
